Auditions are held for specific productions throughout the year. These roles are non-AEA / without pay. Typically, we ask actors to prepare a classical monologue in addition to reading sides from the script.
We are not currently holding auditions for any upcoming shows. However, we do take submissions throughout the year, so please feel free to send your headshot / resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We want to host a series of play reading groups to try out several plays under consideration for future productions.
These will not be public performances, just informal sessions that will include reading the plays out loud, with preliminary dramaturgy and open discussion.
These will be plays that are not commonly known and are very rarely produced. Participants will read roles without regard for their suitability for casting. Of course, these will be works that originated on the Elizabethan and Jacobean stage. Several have been selected, but we might be open to taking suggestions too.
These readings will take place on weeknights in July and August, 2018. It will probably take more than one evening to read each play. It is likely that we'd meet on two evenings from 6:00 PM until 8:00 or 9:00 to get through one play. The availability of participants would determine the exact schedule.
For now, this notice will appear only on the Theater of Others Facebook page and on our website.
